The Massie Family
Gary and Mary Jane
Gary and Mary Jane Massie have been raising livestock for more than 45 years. In the 1990s they started an Angus herd and the Crooked Creek Ranch. They worked to raise efficient sound cattle starting with good females. In recent years the ranch name was changed to Massie Cattle Company to further exemplify the importance and pride in the Massie Family name. Both of them were raised in agriculture and they were successful in passing on that tradition to the next generation.
Gary and Tiffany
Gary and Tiffany Massie both grew up showing cattle. They were very active in local FFA and 4H chapters. Massie Cattle Company really began to make its stride when their daughters stepped into the show ring. Showing bred and owned Angus cattle is a family pursuit. The byproduct is hard-working, goal-oriented, and determined children.
Hartlyn, Harper, and Harlow
The Massie girls have been showing homegrown black Angus together for over six years. They are very involved in 4-H and the Texas Junior Angus Association, Hartlyn as the Texas Junior Angus Board’s Historian, Harper as the Texas Junior Angus Princes, and Harlow as a director.
They also participate in livestock judging though Jack County, as well as competing in photography, public speaking, writing, and graphic design. Working Angus cattle is a passion their passion, and they are happy to be doing it as a family.
